Dr. habil Róbert Szuchy, Associate Professor and Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Law of the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary and Chair of the International Committee of Hungarian Lawyers Association, paid a study visit to Mexico on 26-28 August 2021.
As the first stop of the visit on 26 August, a meeting was held in Mexico City between Dr. Róbert Szuchy and Gábor Endrényi, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Hungary, where they discussed the legal relations between Hungary and Mexico in terms of legal education. The issues of involving further Mexican students in Hungarian legal education, Hungary’s participation in education exhibitions held at Mexico and the cooperation with Mexican partner institutions, such as UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico), also raised at the meeting.
During the day, Dr. Róbert Szuchy held several meetings with the members of the personnel of Tecnológico de Monterrey (Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey – ITESM, https://tec.mx/es) on the Mexico City campus. ITESM is one of the largest universities in Mexico, established almost 80 years ago. The university offers trainings, inter alia, in the fields of engineering, business, law and international studies to its nearly 100,000 students on 26 campuses.
On 27 August, Dr. Róbert Szuchy held a warmly welcomed presentation on the Mexico City campus of ITESM titled “EU Energy Policy and the European Green Deal”. As an introduction, Dr. Szuchy addressed the opportunities of foreign students to study in Hungary, including the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme, and presented the available English language trainings.
